Before reluctantly embracing digital photography, I fell in love with the analog process. I used whatever equipment I could find, from old 35mm cameras to expired film. I developed the film at home and hung it to dry in the shower stall, a lost art in itself. I was always eager to see the results, even if they were scratched or imperfect. It was a lot of work, but the hours spent in the darkroom flew by. Eventually, I started scanning my negatives to my PC, and I would develop (sometimes overdevelop) the images in Photoshop, one by one.
